Hello. I am Christine, born in the Philippines and now based in Sydney Australia.  This blog is about my life, my musings and a bunch of other beautiful things. My url “marikit” means “pretty” or “beautiful” in Filipino.  It doesn’t mean though that I think or feel that I am beautiful (because in most days, I scare myself in the mirror!) but this blog is all about anything and everything beautiful.

I have been blogging since 2004 and have started my love affair with photography in that same year.  I try to write less and post photos more because no matter how I try, my writing leaves a lot to be desired. Hee.  I have been practicing with my dslr (on and off) for the past seven years and have changed cameras twice.  My first was a Canon 30d then a 40d and now a 5d MII.  I’m in love with this piece of gadget. I look forward to add a flash unit, a 50mm 1.2 lens and a pretty Shootsac on my list.

I am also in the process of learning how to edit photos and I am starting to fall in love with a few LR Presets and PS Actions.  Looking back at my old photos, I didn’t realize how much I used and abused vignettes.  Ha! Well, photography is a never-ending learning process, and a long and winding one for me!  But I love it because it is my form of relaxation and my mind just escapes the busy-ness of life whenever I take photos.

My favorite subjects are my family, my beautiful husband and two kids, followed by nature.  I am so amazed by God’s wonderful creation.  Especially when we get the chance to travel, I always get drop-jaw moments as I get mesmerized by His very artworks.
